Die! Chair! Die! - A SHORT STORY
Life is like a game, especially for those who dare. Today, I dared.
Three days ago, I had received an anonymous tip, regarding money laundering and corruption of Anna Pavit.
I spent all three days preparing for today. On that day, I verified documents and prepared strategy to present my case to the higher ups and negotiate with them, corruption was there too and I wanted my commission. The next day, negotiations went smooth and I was assigned a team, all officials just like me, craving to take a bite from Anna’s skin. Yesterday, we started planning and creating strategy in the morning and finalize every thing at night, then we did a pre winning celebration and we drank all night.
Today, I’m regretting drinking so much, only because of hangover, we are the winners, no one would care if we are a bit uncivil. Anna would, he could only complain, he was in our custody.
Today, I was sweating, it didn’t had to go this way, not due to the pressure of raid failing on me but to the hot damn weather, like hell I’d be afraid of this dumb flub in the form of human. It’s fleabing forty-nine degrees here, this man, threw a fit and won’t even let us switch the AC on.
There are still plenty of lockers we need to check. One by one, we checked every locker, we checked in the beds, throwing all the bedsheets here and there, where ever we went we left a mess and we were not in the mood to see our raid failing.
there was nothing, nothing, we couldn’t find anything. but the tip was believable
“now will you all leave? you have already created a mess, it will take time to settle things up again”
“the raid isn’t over until we say so” it was bright afternoon already. security was tight, locals gathered waiting to attack.
‘ i guess, i should rest to clear my mind’ i took a seat on one of the cushioned and luxurious couch, which this person had no financial abilities to purchase, the house was filled with this stuff.
‘yeah, i can do that, ig that isn’t legal, but it will give us time and shed a few hairs off his head’
“Anna, get me the bills for all the item I call out, I won’t take no for an answer” ”hmme?” anna looked puzzled
“your 300 inch sony tv” i called out, this big ass tv had been on my nerve since i entered. how did they even get it in?
“I don’t have it, and you can’t do nothing about that thing” said anna arrogantly
this dumb fuck, he thinks he is too smart, i’ll show what being too smart can cause!
“oh yaa! You doubt me? Haah!” i picked up the chair and banged it in the tv.
Everyone, including my team members and Anna’s family had an horrified look after they saw what just happened.
I turned around, and looked at anna, “ you want to know, who is the bigger goon here?”
clink clink i heard the sound and the tinkling continued, one side of my lips curled so high up that it almost touched the eye. I didn’t need to turn to know what it was, I felt so cool after doing that, and the pose! My timing couldn’t have been better!
“Anna, we’ve found Evidence for your corruption. You, from now will sit on the ground and will not disturb our investigation” i said looking cool.
i had been ignoring it since striking my pose but there was this strange hologram screen in periphery of my face. ‘did i drink too much, i didn’t hurt my head just now, did i?’

I took my phone out and made a call, everyone stared at me with wide eyes, Anna’s were bulging as If they’d come out of the sockets. The phone was not supposed to be here, especially after we claimed that we had network jammers in place. I placed a call, with a private detective, and secretly asked him to get more dirt on Anna, and find about his involvement with missing children. Then, i placed another call to prepare something for my end-of-day super special event.
‘well then, lets get started’
“all these couches”,i announced
Anna just gave me that arrogant, dumb, poker face looked. Just like how my father looks at me, whenever he is disappointed.
“No? then i won’t ask any more questions from you” i pulled the chair out, banged it again on one of the couches.
I heard, coins falling behind me, and in front of me. ‘its my be cool day today’ the coins sprayed all across the hall as they got out of the sofa, looking like rainbows, while I banged the chair all over the furniture, every time more coins dropping out of unexpected places.

‘huh, is that so?’ I turned and looked at Anna, our eyes met, with a horrified look on his face, and the reflection of a monster in his eyes

The team which was shocked till now, started moving at once.
“Now, THE MIRRORS”
i waved the chair at the mirrors and photos which decorated the walls and gold kept falling out
“what’s Next?” i turned like a madman, holding the chair as if it was a chainsaw.
i went into the kitchen, banged the chair everywhere and got out, i was lvl5 now. one of the man got inside and foraged the bullions lying around and rolling everywhere in the kitchen.
Anna’s face was red, his veins bulging while he sat their biting his tongue as if his lips were sealed.
a little bit of blood leaking from the sides of his mouth, and from his palms.
‘yeah, control yourself all you want, today you will cry blood.’
Like this i continued to break multiple things, I am doing my job and evidently i am very good at it.
There is some disturbance outside, but there are defense forces.
“You had been acting all wildly, till now. Now I’ll see what you’ll do”
“Did you finally lost it? About time, ain’t it?”
to my remark, the villain only smiled.
images suddenly flashed through my mind, and i saw the wireless dumb phone lining his pockets
“Let me see, how long your forces keep the mob outside”
“You don’t have to worry about them stealing any of your golden crackers” ’damn, why did i have to call in front of him, but never the less the more people, the merrier’
‘i had leveled up, these hollow walls were as good as cardboards to my fists.’
and i had bought a special skill from the shop which cost me a lot of points but who cares, i could live lazily for the rest of my life and his black money won’t even get a dent.
I picked up the chair and banged it infront of him one final time, this time the chair shattered to dust.
Soon the ruckus outside was bigger than i have ever heard, but everything inside was finished as well.
we escorted the villain outside, where both my preparation for now and the villain’s preparation were in full display.
From my side, we had, hundreds of trained men and women armed to defend the raid team, and a crane with a huge wreaking ball. The Villain had gathered thousands of villagers mixed with hundreds of goons instigating a riot.
The chaos was unfolding since hours, and it had still to come to a stop. The villains face turned towards me and was decorated with a wide eyed grin, with the corners of his lips touching both his eyes and a set of red deformed teeth displayed in full glory,
“disgusting”, my nose curled up, and the back of my hand clapped with his face just as fast.

I entered the crane and operated the wreaking ball, for this i had a driving license as young and proud me was fully prepared to leave the corrupted world to join a demolition crew.
the ball flailed and after half a minute it finally struck one of the pillars of the house and shattered it, I continued while the many faces in the crowd, probably goons, witnessed this in absolute horror,
